Four years later, 2020 Tokyo Olympics will be held.
The Japanese government said that this Olympic Games is the symbol of reconstruction after the Tohoku earthquakes, wherein many people are still suffering from the aftermath.
Instead of spending money to the symbol of reconstruction, we should spend money to ‘real’ reconstruction. It is inconsistent…
It is said that expenses of Tokyo Olympic is 1.8trillion yen.（almost 15billion dollars.）We should learn from the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics.
The 1998 Nagano Olympics was a symbol of “negative legacy.” Nagano prefecture built 6 new stadiums for the Olympics that totally spent 118 billion yen. As a result after the Olympics, Nagano prefecture suffered from heavy debts. Finally next year they will repay construction costs of the Olympics and it takes 20 years.
The Funniest story is the “Stadium Spiral”.
“Spiral” is a stadium created for bobsleigh and luge. The cost was 10 billion yen in addition to construction costs. Every year it takes 200 million yen for maintenance costs.
Reader might think “Wow , bobsleigh and luge are very popular in Japan and there must be many players.”
To know more about this, you can read the poem Oh! Spiral.
Poem : Oh! Spiral
It costs 10 billion yen.
Every year it costs 200million yen for maintenance.
Players are just 170 people in Japan.
The annual income is 7million yen.
Every year it records a deficit for 193 million yen.
This is the negative “Spiral”
We should learn from this Spiral…
